|EPA changes new stormwater runoff permit process on construction sites|
|News - Latest|
The EPA has backed off requiring a numeric limit for turbidity on stormwater from construction sites. While considered a plus for construction contractors, the new permit process will require more cost and effort to comply with the new permitting process.
Under the new rule, the EPA replaces its 2008 permit and now requires effluent limitation guidelines (ELG), but does not presently require a nationwide numeric limit to be met because industry groups have claimed the proposed numeric guideline would be difficult to achieve and problematic to enforce. The EPA will continue to develop a numeric limit that is more attainable.
